There are so many benefits for starting to incorporate yoga into your life today!

When I started getting into yoga a few years ago, I instantly started seeing results. I become more flexible, pain free and had more clarity. Yoga energizes you, helps to straighten out your spine and makes you feel like you can stand up taller. My journey with yoga has been amazing. I do also want to try going on a yoga retreat sometime in the near future.

There are different types of yoga as well. Today, we’ll just be referencing the yoga where you move your body. Such as hot yoga, everyday yoga that most people know, and the really cool Kundalini yoga. I know most of you probably have not heard about Kundalini yoga. This is by far my most favourite type of yoga. It is all about releasing the dormant Kundalini energy that resides within all of us. I won’t go into too much detail about it in this post, but this is basically the yoga that helps to balance your chakras.

When I would do Kundalini yoga, I could literally feel it everywhere. My body would shake as it reset itself and I felt the energy grow inside of me. Always immediately after this type of yoga, I would feel completely different than when I started. I would feel a release of anything negative I was holding on to and a deep sense of understanding who I am and what I needed to do. This yoga is truly magic and I highly suggest trying it!

So, lets get into some more benefits of yoga and how it can change your life. As we get older, the stresses of life begin to weigh on us. We begin to add on more responsibilities and the anxiety of it all can get to us sometimes. Taking time out to get on your mat and recharge yourself helps with this. As you get deeper into that pose, you begin release tension and your worries melt away. Not only does yoga help with your mental state of being, it also helps with your physical state. But, you already knew that. Most people get into yoga to tone their bodies and lose weight. Which yoga of course is great for! It stretches and strengthens your muscles as you learn pose after pose.

Yoga helps to bring you in tune with your mind and body. You connect your breathe with each movement and it brings a peacefulness within yourself. This is also why yoga helps with relaxation. It creates a type of bliss during and after your session. I promise you, you will never regret doing a yoga session!

I will never stop doing yoga. I love the way I feel after it and I love seeing the progress as I get better at each pose. It’s fun to track your progress and see yourself improve.

I actually have been on and off my yoga for awhile, and I can tell the difference. My body begins to stiffen up again as life stress piles up. It’s okay though, because I will keep pushing to improve. Just taking it one day at a time. The best part is, that when you are consistent with yoga, you really can tell! I’m not quite at the Instagram level of yogis, but I’m trying!
